MB Recaster Free - Buffer settings

I'm noticing my players are getting buffer underruns when playing a stream supplied by MB Recaster. I can temporailly fix the audio skips by increasing the buffers in the players, but this only delays the issue as the audio skips will still appear, it just takes longer for them to do so.
I've looked around in the settings for MB Recaster but I haven't been able to find any specific buffer settings. Are there any such options, or do I just have to live with the skipping?

(It is not a network or client issue. I used to use SAM Broadcaster and never had any problems with buffer underruns.)

I never got rid of these buffering issues and finally did some troubleshooting. My conclusion is, unfortunately, that MBRecaster is the culprit.
I tried switching between different versions of shoutcast and icecast, and they all had problems.
The buffering issues appeared even when connected to the same network switch as the server (so there should be no delays) which rules out ISP issues.
When listening to the actual soundcard output there were no skips.
I went back to SAM Broadcaster and I've been listening for a long while now without any buffering issues.
My only conclusion can then be that this must be an MBRecaster issue.

Unfortunately, upgrading to the latest version is a no-go as this does not support higher bitrates than 192kbps.

I like what I've seen from MBRecaster so far, so what can I do to help?

Version 4.5.3.1.
Buffering occured in Winamp, VLC, and on the built in player on my Denon surround receiver.
Windows Server 2016 with Realtek audio drivers.

Buffering with both MP3 and AAC.
Tested with bitrates of 320, 256 and 192 kbps.
"Limit rate" was always off

320kbps was usually audible after roughly 15 minutes (same for AAC and MP3).
After the first buffer underrun it continued roughly every 2-3 minutes.

256kbps had the first underun after roughly 25 minutes.
