Pare che stai cercando di installare un driver sbagliato.

Innanzitutto esistono 3 tipi diversi di scheda MAYA: MAYA44, MAYA44E, MAYA44XTE.

Una volta che hai identificato la tua, vai qui e scarica il driver corretto: download.esi-audio.com/?w=esi&p=0&g=1&l=en

Purtroppo il driver è quello giusto, la scheda è la Maya44 PCI e la versione del driver è la 1.18...

WIndows 7 Ultimate SP1 32 bit.
La cosa stranissima è che il driver "impazzisce" da un momento all'altro ed in maniera del tutto casuale!
Se non la si tocca la regia va tranquilla e bene, poi all'improvviso, magari mentre controllo la posta elettronica e faccio clic per leggere un messaggio, la scheda parte con un disturbo metallico come distorto. L'unico modo per farla tornare normale è andare nel pannello della scheda e selezionare Factory default.

Sembra che per quel problema devi disattivare nel bios il "cool and quiet" se usi cpu AMD o il throttle se usi CPU Intel

Ho indagato nel BIOS della mia scheda madre...ho disabilitato Intel SpeedStep e lo stato C1E (in cui si parlava anche nell'articolo pubblicato da M-Audio in merito ai problemi con le sue schede) ma non è possibile disabilitare il Thermal Monitor: posso solo scegliere tra TM1 e TM2. Ho impostato il TM2 che pare sia più evoluto ed efficiente. Di throttle nessuna traccia. La scheda è una Asus P5VD2-MX con intel Core2 Duo E6700

Ho notato che il disturbo parte sistematicamente quando apro il programma della posta elettronica (windows live mail)...

Ho letto quell'articolo, ma nel mio BIOS non trovo traccia di throttling. Anche windows 7 non ha le opzioni che vengono mostrate nel link.
